Yolanda Borrás

Yolanda Borrás is a Dominican educator, author, teacher trainer, and public speaker with over 30 years of dedication to early childhood education. She is the founder of I’m Bilingual!® Languages Through Music, an early childhood center she founded in NYC.

Her award-winning I’m Bilingual! Supplemental Spanish Curriculum provides teachers with research-based strategies and field-tested materials that support language acquisition, foster foundational academic and social skills, and integrate music, movement, and culture into early learning.

 

The collection of children’s music and illustrated songbooks has earned more than 20 international awards.

Yolanda’s dynamic teacher-training workshops draw from best practices in early childhood education and highlight authentic songs, traditions, and cultural perspectives from the Spanish-speaking world. She has shared her expertise with educators across the United States and internationally; in the Caribbean, Europe and Asia.

Her contributions have been recognized by the Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs as an “Outstanding Dominican Abroad.” She has also been featured in newspapers and magazines in the Dominican Republic, as well as in the New York Times, Johns Hopkins Magazine, EdLab at Columbia University, and NPR-affiliated programs in the USA.

 

Yolanda earned a Bachelor’s in Music from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University and a Master’s in Educational Administration from Teachers College, Columbia University.

 

She is a member of Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society.
